Each face of this decorative lighting piece is a design made from three layers of laser cut wood. Each of the 54 outer faces has three stained layers to form the design with the top layer being the brightest and the innermost layer the darkest for contrast. Once joined all faces had to be brought together at the correct angles to build up this augmented small stellated dodecahedron with finger joints at the edges to create a rigid structure. Overall this decorative lighting work is composed of 176 individually cut pieces excluding the hardware and electrical components. Pictured in tints of azure blue, but also available in tints of turquoise and indigo.
* I would only recommend using LED lightbulbs or something else that doesn’t get super hot.*
